Nourishing Winter Moon Milk

Moon Milk is a creamy, nurturing warm beverage that increases ojas in your physical self, nourishing both body and mind.

It quickly became my favorite evening beverage, even in the warmer months when you can serve it a little cooler if you like.

Sweetened with dates it contains no processed sugar and by using almond milk you are increasing the nurturing qualities it brings.

You can also use this recipe as a base for your Ceremonial Cacao by using the option given below.

Ayurvedic Winter Moon Milk

I tried a few different ceremonial grade cacao’s and the Cacao Collective is one of my absolute favourite for ethical reasons, taste, convenience and value.

“Stir the mixture mindfully and allow your positive intentions to into infuse the milk”

Winter Moon Milk

Makes: 1 Serve

The Ingredients

  • 250ml of Almond Milk

  • 1 Medjool Date, pit removed and roughly chopped

  • ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon

  • ¼ teaspoon of ginger powder

  • A pinch of cardamom or a single pod (remove before blending)

**Optional - 15 grams of Ceremonial Cacao**

The Method – Could it get any simpler?

Simmer the milk in a saucepan with the date and spices for 5 minutes. Don't allow the milk to boil, just keep it on a very low heat so the flavours can infuse into the milk.

Remove Cardamom pod if using and pour the mixture into a blender. Blend for 60 seconds or until the date is completely smooth. Serve in your favourite mug.

If you have used a whole cardamom pod, make sure to remove it before blending!

Optional Cacao: If you are using Ceremonial Cacao add that in with the other spices and follow the recipe as normal.

As with all my recipes you can alter the quantities of everything to your own taste.

Bon Appétit!
